The Research, Policy and Planning team in the Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention (CDIP) Division requires a candidate to consult and provide strategic assistance, research, and policy support to the Supportive Environments and Healthy Weights strategic priority. The incumbent will utilize evidence informed decision making methodology and the public health core competencies framework in your work and be responsible for assessing new and existing public health interventions using techniques such as policy analysis, critical appraisal, and program evaluation.  In addition, the successful candidate will proactively identify policy and program issues/gaps/trends and provide research, data analysis, and critical analysis support to make evidence-informed recommendations and prepare briefings, options papers, and scoping reviews and conduct rapid reviews to support decision making in policy and program development. As well, the incumbent will be responsible for promoting collaborative partnerships across departments and stakeholders, monitoring/evaluating municipal, provincial and federal policy decisions, and advancing the population health approach as it relates to the strategic priority.
