Position: Public Health Nurse (Competition #2013-02)
Location: Public Health and Emergency Services
Employment Status: Permanent Full-Time
Reporting To: Manager Of Health Promotion

Wage Range: Jan 1/13: $30.98-$42.45/hr

Position Summary:    

Combining knowledge from public health sciences, primary health care, nursing science and social science, focuses on promoting, protecting and preserving the health of populations.  Provides nursing service for families, groups and the community according to the program specific operational plans and policies and procedures of Oxford County Public Health & Emergency Services, the Canadian Community Health Nursing Standards of Practice, and the standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Minimum Qualifications:

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing; Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario;     previous experience in public health nursing is an asset; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; excellent assessment, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and in community partnerships and networks; must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation.
