The Substance Misuse/Injury Prevention program requires a creative, self-starting and persuasive leader with experience or an interest in developing health promotion initiatives. The individual works in a self-directed manner within a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment to design and deliver substance misuse/injury prevention programs. Key responsibilities include: participating in the program planning and evaluation of health promotion initiatives to fulfill identified needs in Peel, facilitating collaborative relationships between the Public Health department and community agencies to coordinate and deliver comprehensive harm reduction programs, proactively identify emerging trends and issues in substance misuse/injury and provide evidence informed analysis, briefings and recommendations to influence strategic initiatives and policy development and utilizing evidence information decision making methodology and the public health core competencies framework.
