(Contract) duration: approximately thirteen (13) months
Reporting to the Supervisor of the Research, Policy and Planning team in the division of Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention, you will provide strategic assistance, research capacity and policy support to the division and its priorities. More specifically, you will proactively identify practice issues and provide research, data analysis, critical analysis, rapid reviews, briefings and recommendations to guide and influence divisional direction and policy development. You will also be responsible for assessing new and existing public health interventions using techniques such as policy analysis, critical appraisal, and program evaluation. In addition, you will be responsible for various aspects of policy and procedure development, collaborate across departments and with various stakeholders, and monitor/evaluate municipal, provincial and federal policy decisions in order to advance population health. You will act as a consultant to the division and provide expert advice in setting priorities, research reviews, critical appraisals, policy support and program planning and evaluation. As well, you will utilize evidence informed decision making methodology and the public health core competencies framework in your work.
