Infection Control Specialist (13-522)
Health Services – Communicable Diseases Division
Reporting to the Supervisor of Communicable Disease Surveillance, you will provide Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) expertise to internal and external stakeholders and apply your expert knowledge of current evidence and best practice standards and guidelines to prevent and control the spread of communicable diseases within the region of Peel. You will plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate infection control programs within the region of Peel and assess and build capacity among internal and external stakeholders to detect emerging IPAC issues. Other responsibilities include: engaging in surveillance and outbreak management in acute and non-acute health care settings; partnering with community networks and committees to develop and implement best practices related to infection control; ensuring compliance to applicable legislations, policies, and standards; participating in various departmental, inter-departmental and interagency committees.
