CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses’ Board of Directors is currently recruiting members for our Board. CARE Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) has supported over 1,400 nurses from more than 140 countries to become registered in the province since 2001. CARE Centre is funded by the Ontario Government and the Government of Canada. A non-profit organization, CARE Centre provides immigrant nurses with a continuum of services to support them to be successful. CARE Centre recognizes the value of nurses with diverse education and experience and is committed to advocating for their full contribution to Canada’s labour market. CARE Centre for IENs’ Board of Directors is an 11-member volunteer community board working in a policy governance model with two mandated seats for clients/member IENs. The term of a Board Member is three years, with the possibility of renewal for 2 consecutive terms. CARE Centre currently is headquartered in Toronto and has offices in Brampton, Hamilton, London, Windsor and Kingston. As it enters its 13th year, CARE Centre is seeking individuals from diverse backgrounds who possess specific specializations to guide the organization toward meeting new strategic goals. These backgrounds include:
- social enterprise and innovation
- social marketing and communications
- fundraising and corporate partnerships
- economic and social research
Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter or e-mail, along with their résumé or CV which will be reviewed by the board nomination committee. Applicants will be interviewed in November with nominations in December and board orientation in January. Successful candidates will be asked to sign a Statement of Commitment with their appointment.
