Facilitated by Toronto Public Health staff, this intensive two day overview of harm reduction practice features presentations by fantastic community speakers offering innovative harm and risk reduction programming across the City.
What you will take away from the two days:
Focusing on basic concepts, tips, tools and strategies, the workshop will give you confidence in supporting people who use substances where they are at in a compassionate, responsive manner. You will be able to: recognize the stigma and discrimination substance users experience; understand safer smoking & injection; learn tips for getting and keeping housing; gain an overview of hepatitis C; understand the impact of loss and trauma, and more!
This workshop is free. Food and drinks are not provided. It begins at 9:30 a.m., sharp.
