It Takes a Village: Taking Action for Healthy Children, Best Start Resource Centre

The Best Start Resource Centre is very pleased to announce the availability of a new online training program for service providers titled It Takes a Village: Taking Action for Healthy Children. The purpose of this program is to address some of the issues raised by the recent report from the Healthy Kids Panel, No Time to Wait: The Healthy Kids Strategy (http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/common/ministry/publications/reports/heal...).

Webinars explaining the purpose of the program took place this week and a recording is now available at http://healthnexus.adobeconnect.com/p91t8qqf2ip/ to answer your questions about the program.

The online course will benefit managers and front-line workers who work with children aged 2-11 in the following sectors: recreation, public health, community health, education, childcare and social service.

  • Free of charge.
  • Requires approximately 4-5 hours to complete.
  • Certificate of completion available.

To access the online program itself, please register at http://www.beststart.org/TakingAction.  The program is available in English and will be available shortly in French and announced through the Best Start listservs.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank the Advisory Committee, the numerous Expert Reviewers, the Field Testers and Consultants who have made this important resource possible.
