Wage Range: $37.02 - $44.06/HR
This position researches and interprets information; plans, analyzes, evaluates current or proposed health programs for the purpose of program development. Assists in the development of recommendations, strategies, and policies to improve existing health programs or substantiate the need for additional programs. Provides recommendations based on current literature, research, epidemiological and health status information, to support the delivery of effective public health practices and services.
Master’s degree in in a related health or social sciences discipline with emphasis on planning, and evaluation of health program and policies or equivalent combination of related education and work experience; additional certification in continuous quality improvement is an asset; minimum of 1 year related experience in public health program planning, evaluation and policy development; advanced skills and demonstrated experience in public health practice, research, program planning, evaluation, policy development, community development and project management; experience using statistical software and familiarity using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and provincial databases currently used in delivery of public health programs and services in Ontario; excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with strong facilitation, project management and organizational skills; sound knowledge of current public health issues, and applicable legislation; ability to work flexible hours (occasional evenings and weekends) when necessary; a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
