School Travel Planning (STP), when effectively coordinated and implemented, can result in positive school travel behaviour change, and ultimately provide substantial economic, environmental and physical activity benefits. Please join us for a webinar that presents updated tools, resources and research to help achieve these goals. This webinar will include two presentations with questions and discussion.
 
The 2016 Guide and Toolkit Update

Well-tested STP Tools are essential for the work of Facilitators in schools and with stakeholders. Recent STP work has led to this significant toolkit update and we are introducing a new community tool to help assess the benefits and costs of STP.
 
School Traffic Safety in the City of Toronto   
Presenter: Dr. Linda Rothman, Post Doctoral Fellow, Faculty of Health, School of Kinesiology and Health Science, York University
 
There has been very little research conducted in Canada related to both reducing pedestrian collisions AND increasing active school transportation. A team of researchers and medical doctors at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, York University and the University of Toronto, Mississauga, are conducting a program of research to better understand the benefits and risks of walking and wheeling to school.
