The summit will focus on exploring the Health and Well-Being of South Asian Immigrant Women through a Lifespan Approach. Topics that will be discussed throughout the event include Mental Health, Social Determinants of Health, Chronic Health, Violence and Abuse, and Sexual and Maternal Health. The Summit aims to inform the ongoing research for the South Asian Health Strategy report. The purpose of the report is to advise the provincial government of the specific health needs of South Asian communities living in Ontario.

The Summit hopes to bring together academics, health and social service providers, policy makers and stakeholders to share and exchange knowledge regarding the health care needs of South Asian communities.The day will include multiple panel and round table discussions, and an introduction to our South Asian Health Strategy. Through this summit, we hope to explore current issues pertaining to immigrant women’s health, to create a platform to foster open knowledge exchange, and to add to our South Asian Health Strategy. We anticipate a total of 100 attendees, including academics, health and social service providers, policy makers, stakeholders and community members.
