Deadline March 3, 2017
The Canadian Cancer Society is pleased to announce that applications for our Youth 4 Action program are once again being accepted from February 20 – March 3, 2017. This peer-to-peer program allows, youth ages 14-24 to use their skills and creativity to educate their peers about cancer prevention, advocate for policy change in their communities, and raise funds to support the Canadian Cancer Society mission. As part of the Youth 4 Action program, youth receive training, guidance, and resources and can apply to receive a grant of up to $300 to put towards their activities.
Youth groups choose one of the 4 topics below as the focus of their campaign:
- Big Tobacco Lies: exposing the manipulative ways the tobacco industry markets their products to youth
- Tanning is Out: Encouraging peers to embrace their natural skin tone
- Rethink Sugary Drinks: Educating peers about sugary drinks and learn about the marketing tactics used to make these products more attractive to youth.
- Get Active, Stay Active! : Setting up opportunities for youth to have fun while being active and learning about the benefits of regular physical activity on preventing cancer.
