KFL&A Public Health is a local public health agency with over 200 staff and 150 volunteers who deliver public health programs and services to the people of the KFL&A area.  The Infectious Disease Prevention and Environmental Health Division has an immediate opening for an Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Nurse.

The Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Nurse utilizes expert knowledge of current legislation, best practices, standards and guidelines to provide expertise and leadership in risk assessment and infection prevention and control (IPAC) practices to internal and external stakeholders. The IPAC Nurse provides coordination of IPAC initiatives and deliverables across the agency; strategically plans and delivers communicable disease programs; assists in policy development and performs evaluation; and builds capacity internally and externally to detect and manage IPAC issues.

In conjunction with the manager, the IPAC nurse strengthens the communicable disease program through excellence in service provision and co-ordination of legislated programs, and provides broad program support in the form of planning, delivery and promotion of programs and services outlined in the Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS).
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in nursing which includes public health nursing preparation.  The successful candidate must be a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and possess current certification in infection control (CIC) through the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).
