Ontario Self-Help Network 2004 Conference

The Ontario Self-Help Network (OSHNET) 2004 conference will be at Metro Hall. Our theme this year is Think Self-Help: Building Blocks to Popularity. This is an excellent opportunity for volunteers and professionals involved in self-help/mutual aid to meet, explore issues and build skills.

The conference format includes

* Two guest speakers exploring current challenges facing the self-help movement

* Roundtable discussions on such themes as increasing the public profile of self-help, strategies to help groups with recruitment and retention, peer education programs, embracing diversity, advocacy as a role for self-help, the professionalizing of self-help and self-help and research--exploring the relationship

* An afternoon devoted to skills building workshops such as Self-Help 101--Starting a Self-Help Group, Fundraising and Networking for Self-Helpers, Marketing Self-Help and Facilitation Skills

As in the past, conference attendance is free but registration is required. For more information or a registration form, please contact or call (416) 487-4355.
