Diversity and Volunteering: Who Benefits?

A day of dialogue at Toronto's Metro Hall

9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Diversify the Source, Enhance the Force (DSEF) project at the Self-Help Resource Centre invites you to attend a day of dialogue and learning around the issues of diversity and volunteering. Concluding a year long pilot that explored barriers and opportunities for New Canadians seeking volunteer experience in this province, the day will include

* expert panel discussions on diversity and volunteering, including Dr. Usha George, Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto and Liz Weaver, Volunteer Hamilton;

* "Stories from the Field," New Canadians reflect on volunteering in Ontario;

* lessons learned from the DSEF pilot; and

* presentation of new models and tools for diversity in volunteerism.
