Harm Reduction and Housing: Influencing Political Agendas

Cody Hall, St. Paul's Church, 227 Bloor Street East (near Jarvis Street)

The Toronto Harm Reduction Task Force, "working to reduce drug-related harm in Toronto, since 1996," presents this full-day forum.

* Registration / Networking from 8:30 a.m. and Forum from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Workshops will be offered at both the morning and afternoon sessions:

A) Effective Lobbying

B) Using the Media

C) Harm Reduction Housing Models

The focus of this forum is on moving harm reduction housing ahead on political agendas. This is especially timely in that it is expected that there will be two, and perhaps even three, election campaigns in the coming year.

Keynote speaker is Libby Davies, an MP from Vancouver, who will talk about housing as a human right. MPP Michael Prue, NDP housing and municipal affairs critic, will give a luncheon presentation. There will also be a display of a mock, safe-use site, and community members will be available to answer questions. A buffet lunch will be provided on site.

Free Admission - Advance Registration Required
