Emergency Risk Communication CDCynergy (March 2003)

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control's new communication training materials - "CDCynergy, an interactive CD-ROM, is a training and decision-support tool. It is designed to help CDC staff and public health professionals systematically plan communication programs within a health context. It allows users to assemble the piece of a health communication plan systematically by answering questions offered in a specific sequence." The Emergency Risk Communication curricula and training has the following goals:

- To disseminate training curricula and tools that will help public health communication professionals effectively prepare for and respond to public health emergencies.

- To introduce public health officials, to the crisis and emergency risk training curricula and tools developed by the CDC

- To train communicators, to subsequently train public health professionals in how to systematically plan, develop, implement, and evaluate crisis and emergency risk communication activities.
