The Dental Health Status of Dialysis Patients

The authors conclude that dialysis patients appear to be predisposed to a variety of dental problems such as periodontal disease, enamel abnormalities, premature tooth loss, etc. Dental care, as well as primary preventive measures, seems to have been neglected in these patients. In the study sample, there were low levels of flossing and infrequent dental visits. Findings include dental fractures, erosion, recession, gingivitis and high plaque.
