From the website: "The Ontario Association of Parents for children's mental health was inaugurated and the first board of directors was elected in 1994. All board members have all been involved with a children's mental health agency at one time. The Association's mandate is

*To promote the interests of parents and families whose children are, were, or are about to be engaged in service with a children's mental health centre

*To interact with the government at the provincial level

*To advocate for additional and improved services for children

*To monitor the effectiveness of the various components of the service system



"Activities of the Association include presentations, workshops, representation on government working groups, advocacy, government meetings and consultations."
