CPHA requires an HIV Prevention Program Officer, Canadian HIV/AIDS Clearinghouse to respond to public health and AIDS organizations front-line workers requests related to HIV prevention programs by implementing and maintaining a Canadian database of HIV prevention programs. The HIV Prevention Program Officer is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of a listserv on Canadian HIV/AIDS issues.
Candidates require a Master's degree in Health Promotion, Nursing, Sexology, or a related area, and three to five years experience in the HIV prevention field. The position calls for an individual with excellent knowledge of HIV prevention issues and trends in the public health environment, excellent communication, organizational and research skills, and a good understanding of HIV prevention program planning, implementation and evaluation. The ability to communicate fluently in both English and French is essential.
Solid experience working with computers and databases is also needed. This contract is effective to March 31, 2001, and the salary range is $40,000 - $44,000 per year dependent on background and experience.
