BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Plans and implements health promotion programs and program components for a broad range of health issues and topics. Strategies include education, community mobilization, community development and capacity building, social marketing, media, advocacy. Facilitates interagency collaboration and coalition building for the purpose of co-ordinated program planning and evaluation. Assists in preparation of annual operational plans. Advocates and develops healthy public policy at local, provincial and federal levels. Prepares funding proposals in collaboration with community partners. Reviews research for program planning. Designs and coordinates program evaluation activity, collects and analyses data, recommends program modifications, disseminates research findings. Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED: The position requires an individual with thorough working knowledge health behaviours, health policy and policy development, health promotion program development, adult education, community development, communications and evaluation research; normally acquired through a Masters level degree in the area of health studies or health promotion, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience plus accumulated experience of 1 year in program evaluation and planning in a community setting.
SALARY/WAGE RATE: $44,463 - 50,505 per annum/$24.43 - 27.75 per hour
