Sports/Recreation Evaluation Coordinator, St. Michael's Hospital

Location: Injury Prevention Research Office

The Sports/Recreation Evaluation Coordinator will plan and implement research in minor league hockey teams in this one year contract position. Excellent interview, project documentation and observational skills and a strong background in statistical methods are essential. Travel is an important component of this position.

As a member of the research team, the Coordinator will

*present research protocols to league officials;

*develop timelines and detailed work plans and specify monthly deliverables;

*recruit sample of coaches, players, parents, trainers and league officials;

*collect and transcribe interview data;

*ensure research protocols are followed;

*prepare and promote the project through oral, written and visual presentations;

*write research proposals; and

*develop collaborative relations with consumer and stakeholder organizations.

Essential Qualifications

*a valid Ontario driver's license and full-time access to a car

*excel at working collaboratively and independently

*strong motivational, and interpersonal skills

*an aptitude for strategic thinking and problem-solving

*outstanding verbal and written communication skills

*ability to work in a multiple task environment and to meet deadlines

*at least an undergraduate degree and two years experience in either health or education research

*experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
