Promotes and protects the health of individuals, families, social networks and the community, in accordance with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Mandatory Health Programs, in order to enable all children (5-9 years) and adolescents (10-19 years) to attain and maintain their optimal level of physical, mental, emotional and social development. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, participates in planning and implementation to strengthen community action, including community development, comprehensive school health initiatives, conferencing, coalition building and community collaboration.
Must possess a current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a Baccalaureate in Nursing that includes preparation in Public Health Nursing or Diploma in Public Health Nursing (per HPPA amended 1997).
