This is a Non-Union Management position reporting to the Director, Healthy Lifestyles. The incumbent will manage an interdisciplinary team and be responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the assigned Chronic Disease and Injuries programs to meet the requirements of the Mandatory Health Programs and Services Guidelines, 1997.
A baccalaureate degree in a health-related discipline. Leadership, decision making and analytical, communication and negotiation as well as organizational and facilitation skills. Knowledge of the theories of public health, health promotion, behaviour change and the principles of evidence-based health-promotion practice. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional, Internet, information system and data analysis. A minimum of five-years experience in public health with progressive leadership, supervisory and management responsibilities and experience in program planning and evaluation. A valid driver's licence and use of a vehicle are required, as well as a satisfactory police records check.
Normal working hours are 8:30 a.m-4:30 p.m., however flexible working hours are required.
