Summary of duties
Reporting to the Manager of Chronic Disease Prevention, plan, develop, implement and evaluate physical activity initiatives in keeping with the requirements of the Physical Activity Promotion Program Standard under the Health Protection & Promotion Act, Section 7, policies of the Regional Corporation and approved budget. The position involves extensive community liaison and mobilization, analysis of physical activity issues and recommendation of physical activity policy options, consultation to staff and the community on physical activity promotion strategies and collaboration with other staff in the development of integrated lifestyle programs.
* Baccalaureate degree in Health Promotion, Physical Education, Kinesiology or health science with two years work experience in health promotion, community mobilization and policy research, analysis and development
* Sound knowledge of physical activity promotion, health behaviour and behaviour change theory, health policy analysis and policy development
