The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is pleased to announce that
the 2006 WinterActive pilot and SummerActive initiatives will run
February 28 to March 6 (WinterActive pilot) and May 12 to June 21
(SummerActive) at the national level.
WinterActive and SummerActive are national community mobilization
initiatives designed to help Canadians improve their health by
encouraging and supporting their first steps towards regular physical
activity, healthy eating, living a tobacco-free lifestyle and
participating in sport activities. The WinterActive pilot and
SummerActive initiatives are organized by the PHAC, Health Canada, and
Canadian Heritage (Sport Canada) in partnership with
provincial-territorial government departments responsible for physical
activity, healthy eating, smoking cessation, and sport.
