Analyst, Communicable Diseases Research & Policy (Public Health) # 05-509
Reporting to the Manager, Communicable Disease Control (CDC), you will
act as a content consultant on practice issues related to communicable
diseases, epidemiology, case management, outbreaks and infection
prevention and control.  You will provide support, research,
critical analysis, guidance and advice to the CDC Manager by monitoring
developments, opportunities, and trends in legislation and policies as
it applies to communicable diseases.  You will establish and
maintain relationships with fellow municipal, provincial, and federal
counterparts, in addition to developing background materials and
briefing notes.  You will also be responsible for various aspects
of policy and procedure development, education, monitoring and
consultation on medical directives, conducting audits, evaluating
documentation standards, and quality assurance.

If you possess

  • a Masters degree in Health Sciences or related degree
  • strong emphasis on program evaluation, staff education and quality assurance  
  • a minimum three years experience in public health  
  • knowledge and understanding of communicable diseases, infection
    control, outbreaks, and applicable legislation/guidelines  
  • strong analytical skills with qualitative and quantitative
    research methods   excellent computer skills using Microsoft
    software applications  
  • strong verbal and written communication skills  
  • excellent facilitation, presentation, and organizational abilities  
  • demonstrated ability to work effectively within an
    interdisciplinary team setting and to follow projects through to
    completion  
  • an availability to travel to various regional locations and a
    willingness to work some evenings and weekends if required, we would
