Registered Dietitian, Sudbury & District Health Unit

Full-time Temporary Position (up to one year with the possibility of an extension)

The Sudbury & District Health Unit (SDHU) is a progressive,
accredited public health agency committed to the concepts of workplace
wellness. With a head office in Sudbury and four branch offices
throughout the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin, the SDHU delivers
legislated public health programs and services under the leadership of
the Medical Officer of Health and governance of the Board of Health.
The SDHU is designated as one of five provincial teaching health units
and is affiliated with Laurentian University.

The Sudbury & District Health Unit has an exciting opportunity
available in our Sudbury office for a Registered Dietitian. You will be
responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating nutrition
programs and services within the Sudbury & District Health Unit. A
demonstrated ability in project management is essential. You will
provide pediatric nutrition counselling, which includes the
development, implementation and evaluation of individual nutritional
care plans that take into consideration literacy levels and relevant
cultural and psycho-social factors.

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal, organizational
and computer skills. You will have the necessary skills to provide
pediatric nutrition expertise to support to health unit staff, health
and social service professionals, educators, media and the community at

You will have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a
major in Food and Nutrition or equivalent. You will have graduated from
an approved internship program or equivalent and hold a membership, or
be eligible for membership, in the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

You must have a reliable vehicle and a current Ontario Driver's
licence. A satisfactory criminal reference check is required for this
position. Fluency in both official languages is an asset. A minimum of
two years pediatric clinical experience is preferred. Resumes will be
