The Canadian Mental Health Association, Ontario, is a volunteer led,
professionally managed charitable organization with a community focus
dealing with all aspects of mental health and mental illness. CMHA,
Ontario mission is to promote the mental health of all individual and
communities throughout Ontario by providing leadership through
knowledge enhancement, policy development, advocacy, and the
advancement of best practices in service delivery.
Working closely with the Senior Director, Policy & Programs, this
position will support the public policy activities of CMHA, Ontario.
You will contribute to the monitoring of public policy, conduct policy
research and analysis; and prepare reports and implement strategies to
advance the mental health agenda within an environment of health system
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable regarding Ontario's
political structure and government decision-making processes.
Familiarity with mental health policy directions in Ontario is
preferred. Must be able to work effectively in partnership with others
and strategically manage relationships. Demonstrated skills in policy
research, including the ability to locate and utilize data, studies and
other policy-related material. You will have excellent skills and
experience in the methods of policy analysis and can write effectively
to prepare briefs, reports, submissions and presentations.
A university graduate, preferably with graduate level education and a
minimum of three years experience in a public policy oriented position is
required. Proven computer skills in an MS Office environment.
