Health Promotion Specialist, Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health

Casual 1 FTE (35 hrs/week) from April 24 to October 27, 2006

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health works to improve the health of
communities and individuals in Wellington, Dufferin and Guelph through
promotion, protection and prevention.

Working from the Guelph Office, as a member of a multi-disciplinary
team, you will plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate health
promotion strategies.  This will include community development,
program planning and evaluation, coalition building, policy development
and health communications.  Health promotion support is to be
provided to a variety of public health programs including school
health, family health, communicable disease, sexual health, injury
prevention. 

Candidates will have a Baccalaureate degree in health or related
discipline, and a Masters degree in health promotion or health
sciences.  Skills and experience in social marketing, policy
development, behaviour change theory, adult education and program
evaluation.  Excellent presentation skills, written and verbal
communications, group facilitation skills and advanced computer skills.

2006 Salary Range:  $30.44-$35.80 per hour
