The Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention Division requires a creative
and strategic thinking high achiever to lead, motivate, coach, and
mentor a high functioning team of multi-disciplinary health
professionals.  Reporting to the Manager, CDIP, you will be
responsible for supervising, program planning, implementing, and
evaluating a mix of health promotion strategies encompassing individual
and population wide interventions within the Alcohol, Drugs and
Addictions program.  You will oversee program operations, ensuring
efficient, effective utilization of resources.  You will develop
and implement business plans and annual work plans.  You will
provide input in establishing performance targets and overall strategic
and operational objectives for the program meeting Mandatory Program
Guidelines, The Service Strategy Business Plan, and Building Employee
Satisfaction Together (BEST) objectives.  You will build
relationships with external agencies and community groups, participate
on various provincial, departmental and interagency committees to
coordinate the provision of services.

If you possess

  • a Bachelors degree from a health related discipline or in a
    specialized health science area applicable to public health (from a
    recognized university) combined with a minimum of five years
  • knowledge of public health theories, principles, policies, legislation and regulations
  • demonstrated expert knowledge and skills in comprehensive health
    promotion program planning, implementation and evaluation especially
    social marketing and capacity building
  • strong facilitation, presentation, research and analytical skills
  • an ability to lead, manage and motivate a multidisciplinary team of professionals
  • coaching and mentoring skills to build a high functioning team
  • strong project management skills
  • customer/client focused leadership skills
  • ability to build and maintain partnerships, negotiate and collaborate
  • political awareness, tact and diplomacy
  • excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • demonstrated organizational and administrative skills including
