Executive Director, Canadian Child Care Federation

Our client, the Canadian Child Care Federation (CCCF) is the country's
largest early learning and child care organization and has a key
leadership role in working towards the development of a pan-Canadian
child care strategy. CCCF's commitment to excellence in early learning
and child care is achieved through best practices, capacity building,
and development of exceptional collaborations, networks and
partnerships. The CCCF is a bilingual, non-profit, member-based
organization with over 11,500 members across 21 provincial and
territorial affiliate organizations.
Reporting to the Chair of the Board, the Executive Director (ED) is
responsible for providing leadership and direction, including all the
aspects of the Federation's development, its administrative activities
and the creation of programs and initiatives in accordance with the
vision of the Federation. The ED will serve as a spokesperson and
manage the Federation's public image and is the key liaison between all
the internal and external stakeholders including government
representatives and organizations, national strategic alliances, the
affiliate organizations, media, organizational projects partners and
funders, and national voluntary sector organizations working with
children and families. The ED will develop, plan and implement the
Federation's vision and initiatives, ensuring that these activities are
consistent with the strategic plan and mission, and that the
corresponding activities are realized. The ED will manage the business
affairs and administration of the Federation, including all the
financial, capital and human resources, to ensure the effective
operation. Additionally, the ED will actively participate in the
national child care community, developing outstanding relationships
with affiliates, partners, government members, and stakeholders.
As the ideal candidate, you will possess exceptional skills in
leadership, financial management, and government and volunteer
relations combined with early learning and child care experience and
expertise. You are committed to work within budgetary constraints and
possess proven team building skills and the capacity to create a
climate that fosters communication and cooperation. You have the proven
ability to work well with the various stakeholders to achieve its
mission, inspiring staff, the board, volunteers and donors. With energy
and enthusiasm, you will continue bringing the vitality and direction
to the Federation that has created its success in the past. With
excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications, you are a
confident individual and have a history of building constructive and
effective relationships with all kinds of people, both inside and
outside the organization. Flexible and organized, you have demonstrated
ability to adapt to changing demands and situations. The ability to
read, write, speak and understand French is a strong asset.
