Events Planner/Coordinator, Community Safety & Crime Prevention Council

Student position, 9 weeks, June-August 2006

The Community Safety & Crime Prevention Council is a unique and
award winning community organization that works with multiple partners
to address the root causes of crime.  The CS&CPC's Substance
Abuse Committee works with systems issues related to substance use,
misuse and addiction.

In 2005, CS&CPC held a film festival entitled In The Minds
Eye.  In the fall of 2006, a number of additional events are being
considered- keynote speakers, workshops, training and continuing
education etc. -and the successful candidate will work at issues of
design and implementation.

This is truly an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of
community partners to implement a cutting-edge program for both service
providers and residents of Waterloo Region.  The successful
candidate can expect to have a meaningful and rewarding experience
while developing new skills alongside a wide variety of people and
organizations.

Wages:  $7.75 per hour/35 hour work week
