Youth Advisor, Ontario Tobacco Strategy Program, Middlesex-London Health Unit

The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) invites applications for the
position of Youth Advisor, a temporary full-time position to December
31, 2006.   
 
Reporting to the Tobacco Control Manager, the Youth Advisor will
develop awareness of government tobacco programs and available
resources by fostering relationships with community partners such as
youth oriented organizations and other community agencies. The Youth
Advisor will work with Peer Leaders, volunteers, and community agencies
in a variety of initiatives with the aim of de-normalizing tobacco use
and reducing tobacco consumption in the Middlesex-London Health Unit
area.  

Requirements include a post-secondary Community College diploma or
Bachelor's degree in Child Care, Family, Health Studies, or Recreation
with course work in health and adolescent growth and development.
Preference will be given to candidates with a knowledge of tobacco use
issues and programs, and experience working with youth.  Very good
communication and organizational skills are also required. Work outside
of normal business hours is required.
