Description

The Ministry of Health Promotion, chronic disease prevention and health
promotion branch, has a challenging position for a results-oriented
individual with an operations and policy background to lead the
implementation of the Smoke-Free Ontario Strategy. You will provide
strategic leadership in developing strategies, plans and policies that
promote primary prevention of tobacco use, support for tobacco users to
quit use, and protection of the public and workers from exposure to
second-hand smoke provincewide.

Qualifications

  • knowledge of/experience with public health and health promotion
    best practices including tobacco control, use prevention and cessation
  • ability to lead complex projects, build networks, relationships and achieve consensus
  • demonstrated resource and financial management skills
  • knowledge of government decision-making processes
  • organizational, planning, communication, problem-solving, resolution skills
  • demonstrated ability to build an organizational capacity/environment and effectively manage staff
