New Report--Best Practices for the Prevention of Overweight and Obesity in Children

The Applied Research and Analysis Directorate is pleased to announce
the release of the research project entitled "Best Practices for the
Prevention of Overweight and Obesity in Children: A Focus on Immigrants
New to Industrialized Countries."  This project was led by Dr.
Mary Flynn of the Calgary Health Region.

The objective of this research project was to gather information about
the best way to prevent and treat obesity in children.  To do so,
Dr. Flynn and her team conducted literature searches and interviews
with researchers and experts in a wide range of areas including child
health, immigrant health, public health, psychology, nutrition,
exercise and health policy.
