Research and Policy Analyst, Responsible Gambling Council

The Responsible Gambling Council is a not-for-profit organization
dedicated to the prevention of problem gambling through research,
information services and public awareness.  Current examples of
our applied research include: an exploration of best practices for
reducing problem gambling among users of slots and Video Lottery
Terminals, and research on the efficacy of casino self-banning programs
for reducing problem gambling. For more information on our research

We are presently seeking a self-directed individual for a Research and Policy Analyst position.

Major responsibilities include

  • Conducting literature reviews
  • Designing and conducting applied research
  • Report writing
  • Maintaining project records
  • Data gathering, interviewing, moderating focus groups
  • Liaising with key stakeholders

Required skills, experience and education include

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong information gathering and synthesis skills
  • Experience conducting advanced quantitative analyses using SPSS
  • Experience analyzing qualitative research
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Team player
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel
  • Master's level degree in the social sciences with previous work experience
  • French language skills an asset
