The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has launched an action plan
to rebuild and revitalize public health in Ontario. The public health
division is actively recruiting a dynamic team to join the infectious
diseases branch and support its mandate to provide leadership and
oversight in the prevention and control of infectious diseases across
Ontario. If you want to make a positive difference in the health of all

member of the infection control and infectious diseases section, you
will: provide consultative advice regarding enteric, zoonotic and other
reportable diseases to public health units, clients and stakeholders
across Ontario; draft/communicate policy guidelines and
education/resource materials for improved zoonotic and enteric
programs; identify public health issues/trends; chair/participate in
committees/task forces.
Qualifications: proven expertise in the field of public health, disease
mechanisms and epidemiology, with specialized understanding of
enterics, zoonotics, food safety practices and related reportable
diseases; knowledge of related government policies/programs and disease
prevention/treatment protocols; excellent consultative, program
delivery, research, analytical, communication skills; skills/ability to
develop guidelines/education materials; computer proficiency.
