Minimal Contact Interventions for Smoking Cessation

Short interventions that have broad reach can have a greater impact on
population prevalence of smoking than more intensive
interventions.  This workshop identifies principles and strategies
for minimal contact interventions and assists with brief cessation
counselling techniques.  This one-day workshop will

  • describe and demonstrate minimal contact one-on-one counseling and
  • provide an overview of other minimal contact intervention
options, including health care provider advice, telephone counselling,
    and self-help resources.

This one-day workshop will be of interest to individuals who work one-on-one with
smokers and ex-smokers.  Deadline for registration is one week prior to workshop date.
