Public Health Dietitian, Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention Division, Peel Health

our Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention Division.  

The Workplace Health multidisciplinary team requires a collaborative
and self directed professional who will support programs and services
designed to help large and small workplaces within the Peel Region
enhance the health and productivity of their employees. 
Specifically, you will assist with the planning and implementation of a
variety of initiatives to meet the Chronic Disease Prevention Standards
of the Mandatory Health Programs and Services Guidelines related to
workplaces.  You will design and deliver education sessions and
training on healthy eating to adults in workplaces, and provide ongoing
support to other team members and volunteers in the area of the healthy
eating including the nutrition module of the Heart Mobile
program.  You will be responsible for the marketing,
implementation and evaluation of the Eat Smart workplace cafeteria
program.  In addition, you will develop workplace appropriate
materials on healthy eating including displays, presentations,
brochures and workplace website content.  You will also
collaborate with other divisional teams to develop and implement
strategies and activities promoting healthy eating.

If you possess

  • a Bachelor of Science Degree specializing in food and nutrition or equivalent
  • completion of an accredited dietetic internship
  • current permanent general registration in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • minimum 1 year experience in community or public health nutrition
  • excellent communications (both verbal and written)  
  • experience and skills in adult education and writing for an adult audience would be valuable including writing for the web
  • exceptional customer service orientation necessary to deal with the workplace target group
  • computer skills in Ms Office, including Word and PowerPoint
  • knowledge of the health promotion services available to
    workplaces in the Region of Peel, and the Eat Smart program would be an
    asset ? demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner within a
    collaborative multi-disciplinary team
  • able to travel to various regional locations and a willingness to
    work some evenings and weekends, we would like to hear from you.
