Many people in health promotion are exploring ways to promote active
living--not only by encouraging recreational exercise, but also by
considering the built environments which often discourage walking and
cycling in the course of daily life.
This symposium will
- show you how others in similar positions have created innovative
strategies to promote active transportation in their communities;
- emphasize health, urban planning and political perspectives;
- provide new ideas and information to those who are just embarking
on active community programs, as well as to those who have already
developed some expertise.
Intended audience is Community Partners of the Ontario Heart Health
Program; Coordinators of the Ontario Heart Health Program; Public
Health Managers, Chronic Disease Prevention; and Parks and Recreation
Symposium Cost: $75.00 (the symposium is being sponsored by the HHRC)
