The Ontario Community Food Security Network (OCFSN) is currently being
formed to promote the sharing of information, tools, resources and
successful practices among those involved in community food security
projects. The goal of the Network is to increase the capacity of
Ontario communities to provide access to safe, affordable, nutritious
and culturally appropriate food. The steering committee includes
representatives from the Ontario Public Health Association's Food
Security Work Group, the Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition,
FoodShare, the London Community Resource Centre and the Ontario Student
Nutrition Network. The committee is currently working on grant
proposals to obtain funds to support a website and listserv and to
coordinate network activities.
We have set up a short on-line survey to find out if there is interest
in joining the OCFSN and, if so, what particular functions or services
would be most important for it to provide. It will only take a few
minutes to complete, and your responses will help shape the network. To
access the survey please visit
The closing date of the survey will be October 21st.
Thank you for your participation.
