RFP--Model for National Collaboration in the Breast Cancer Community, Canadian Breast Cancer Network

The Community Capacity Building Committee (CCBC), composed of the
Canadian Breast Cancer Network and the provincial and territorial
breast cancer networks, has received funding from the Population Health
Fund of the Public Health Agency of Canada to review the
community-based Model for National Collaboration as an established best
practice, and develop plain language tools about the Model that can be
shared in both official languages within and across sectors.

Three activities are attached to this objective:

  • Activity 1:  Update Model for National Collaboration as
required by CCBC. This activity will be overseen by a CCBC Working
Group that has already been created.
  • Activity 2:  Review the existing evaluations of the Model
for National Collaboration (attached) and conduct updated evaluation
based on criteria established by the Community Capacity Building
Committee (CCBC).  Prepare a Consolidated Report of past and
current evaluations of the Model as an established best practice. This
activity will be overseen by a CCBC Working Group that has already been
    created.
  • Activity 3:  Create, test and finalize plain language
documentation and tools about the Model for National Collaboration as a
best practice in both official languages. This will include text
documents in various formats; PowerPoint presentations; electronic
versions; etc. This activity will be overseen by a CCBC Working Group
    that has already been created.

It is intended that Consolidated Report and plain language
documentation will be widely disseminated by the Canadian Breast Cancer
Network and the provincial and territorial networks, among others, to
increase awareness of the Model for National Collaboration as a best
practice and to encourage use of the plain language documentation on
the Model by those working in breast cancer, cancer and other
healthcare sectors.
