Project Manager--Canadian Research Agenda, Canadian Parks and Recreation Association

six month contract

Job summary

Reporting to the Director of National Initiatives, this professional
level position will provide overall project management and support to
implement year one of a three-year strategic plan for the Canadian
Research Agenda for the Parks and Recreation Field.  The range of
responsibilities requires a solid understanding of project management,
relationship building, research and the municipal parks and recreation
delivery system. The term of this contract position may be extended,
subject to the availability of project funding.

General Responsibilities

Managing the project work plan and budget; project evaluation and
preparation of reports to funders; supporting a National volunteer Task
Group; oversee activities of consultants; design, production and
distribution of resources and communications materials; communication
with key stakeholders; event and logistical coordination.

Education/Experience Requirements

College/university education or commensurate experience, with a
minimum of three years experience in a relevant position (preferably in
recreation/sport administration and the not-for-profit sector). A
proven ability in project management/evaluation is essential and
knowledge of the Canadian recreation delivery system is considered an
asset. Bilingual candidates will receive first consideration.
The base salary for this position is $40,000. Deadline for applications is 12:00 Noon EST, November 24, 2006.
