Youth Net Facilitators, Halton Region Health Department

5-10 positions

This position will involve approximately 8 to 10 hours per month and
requires availability and flexibility, as hours will include mostly
weekdays, but also on occasion weekend and/or evening work. 
Access to a vehicle will be necessary.

This position is being offered on a part-time contract basis from date of hire to July 1, 2007, with possibility of renewal.

  • Specific education or equivalent experience and background in youth mental health/illness issues are required.
  • The ideal candidate will be youth friendly and aware, have
    experience in group facilitation, youth development, identifying youth
    at risk, as well as awareness of the Halton community.
  • Awareness and understanding of youth group dynamics, good listening, organization and presentation skills are required.  
  • Successful candidates will receive Youth Net Facilitator training
    and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), prior to
    start of session delivery.
