The Older Persons’ Mental Health & Addictions Network, “OPMHAN” of
Ontario, is delighted to announce a three year grant from the Ontario
Trillium Foundation: “Strengthening Provincial Capacity To Address
Older Persons’ Mental Health & Addictions”
OPMHAN will be focusing on:
- Supporting older adults at risk of, or coping with, mental health and addiction issues.
- Raising awareness of older adults’ mental health and addictions issues through public and provider education and training.
- Supporting OPMHAN’s provincial affiliates and partners.
To assist in effectively carrying out this ambitious initiative, OPMHAN
is seeking exceptional individuals to fill the position of
Resource & Membership Coordinator.
Major Focus of Position:
- To work with OPMHAN staff and committees in developing, producing and disseminating relevant resource materials
- To manage OPMHAN’s growing membership roster and related activities
Reports to: Executive Director
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications:
- Knowledge and understanding of issues related to older persons’ mental health and addictions
- Ability and flexibility to manage multiple priorities in an exciting and evolving small organizational environment
- Willing to learn and accept new challenges
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Experience in the development, implementation and analysis of information-seeking surveys
- Experience in resource production, editing, collation and coordination, preferably in the social service or health sector
- Experience in working with websites and listservs
- Relevant post Secondary education
- High level of computer skills including Windows related software and internet, listserve and e-mail proficiency
- Excellent written and communication skills
- French or a second language an asset
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Executive Director and relevant committees to develop,
disseminate and analyze the results of a provincial survey - Sourcing, updating, preparing and arranging for publication and
dissemination of a provincial resource guide and related materials - Preparing resource and promotional materials for public and professional forums, conferences and other communication vehicles
- Coordinating production and distribution of resources in print and on-line
- Updating and maintaining membership rosters and related data
- Updating and monitoring the OPMHAN website and related listservs
Other duties: As required under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director
Term: This is a one -year part-time position (0.5 FTE) with the possibility of renewal.
